If you’re looking to gain clarity in understanding this complex topic, the “impossible puzzle” becomes much easier to understand when you look through the lens of Inaugurated Eschatology with an amillennial, post-tribulational rapture perspective.
When someone hasn’t intentionally studied eschatology, they usually end up believing whatever they’ve unknowingly absorbed from a mix of the Left Behind series and mainstream culture, which almost always turns out to be some form of premillennialism. It’s also all too common to hear phrases like, “No one will ever understand this topic, so don’t bother even trying.” But unfortunately, dismissing the topic as “impossible to understand” only reinforces the overly inflated popular iteration: pre-tribulational premillennialism.
In fact, the Jehovah’s Witnesses are one of the major cults that have significantly contributed to our society adopting a premillennialist viewpoint. Cults and high-control groups are naturally drawn to premillennialism because of its emphasis on imminent global collapse, esoteric hidden timelines, and an elite group of survivors provides the ultimate psychological engine for control.
