Harmful Spirit

1 Samuel 18:10 – The next day a harmful spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved within his house while David was playing the lyre, as he did day by day. Saul had his spear in his hand. 11 And Saul hurled the spear, for he thought, “I will pin David to the wall.” But David evaded him twice.

There’s a huge difference between being from God and being of God. All evil spirits, at one point or another, are required to come and experience the pain of bowing before Jesus and then departing from Him.

Job 2:7 – So satan went out from the presence of the Lord and struck Job with loathsome sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.

Galatians 4:6 – And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”

The devil is sent or cast away from God, but the Holy Spirit is sent of God and is Himself God’s very nature.

In 1 Samuel 18, David, God’s anointed one, is betrayed by an old friend named Saul once a harmful spirit from God comes upon him.

Luke 22:3 – Then satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve. 4 He went away and conferred with the chief priests and officers how he might betray Him to them.

In Luke 22, Jesus, God’s Anointed One, is betrayed by an old friend named Judas once a harmful spirit from God comes upon him.

1 Samuel 31:4 – Then Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and mistreat me.” But his armor-bearer would not, for he feared greatly. Therefore Saul took his own sword and fell upon it.
