The Sixth Hour

John 4:6 – Jacob’s well was there; so Jesus, wearied as He was from His journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 (For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.)

Jesus was exhausted, as from heavy labor, thirsty, and His closest friends had left Him when it was about twelve in the afternoon.

Mark 15:33 – And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, â€śEloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

Jesus was exhausted, as from heavy labor, thirsty, and His closest friends had left Him when it was about twelve in the afternoon.

John 19:28 – After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.”
