Acts 13:22 – And when He had removed him, He raised up David to be their king, of whom He testified and said, “I have found in David the Son of Jesse a Man after My heart, who will do all My will.”
Samuel prophesied in 1 Samuel 13:14 that a Man would rise from David’s lineage whose heart would be fully set on pursuing God’s heart. When the fullness of time had come, David’s Great Grandson, Jesus, became the first human being to accomplish the entirety of the will of God through every single moment of His life.
Luke 22:42 – saying, “Father, if You are willing remove this cup from Me. Nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.”
1 Kings 15:5 – because David did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and did not turn aside from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
Jesus is the Man after God’s own heart.
