Settle Accounts

Luke 12:58 – “As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to theĀ officer, and the officer put you in prison. 59 I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the very last penny.”

ā€‹Jesus went with His accusers and did not makeĀ an effort to settle accounts with them. Instead,Ā He remained silent before Pilate, His ‘judge’, whoĀ handed Him over to theĀ officers, upholders, andĀ keepers of the law, who then imprisoned Him in a guardedĀ tomb untilĀ the full sin debt of the world was paid down toĀ the very last cent. Jesus got out 3 days later.

ā€‹John 18:12 – So the band of soldiers and their captain and theĀ officersĀ of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.
