Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Context = The nation of Israel is exiled in Babylon.

The entire people group of Israel as a whole probably feels abandoned, lost, mournful, hopeless and forsaken as they are held captive in the terribly pagan nation of Babylon. The evil king Nebuchadnezzar is the ruler who has authority over Israel at this time which would be very difficult as well.

Then the Lord speaks and prophecies to the whole nation of His chosen people and says the famous Jeremiah 29:11 verse. In the midst of their dark valley, The Lord prophecies of Jesus. “I know the plans to bring forth the Messiah through you Israel. It will come to pass!”

John 4:22 (*Jesus speaking*) – “You worship what you do not know; We worship what We know, for Salvation is from the Jews.”

– Jesus is the Salvation from the Jewish people.

Ephesians 1:9 – making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His purpose, which He set forth in Christ, 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Him, things in heaven and things on earth.
